When Amazon unveiled its very first Kindle they took the market by storm because it seemed to be the best of e-readers at that time. Over time this device has improved significantly, and it was the introduction of the Paperwhite that made certain Amazon stayed ahead of the game.
What made this version so great was the fact that not only could you read your favorite novel by a pool in the sun, but also at night thanks to its built-in backlight. However, Waterfi released the Waterproofed Kindle Paperwhite 2nd generation.
We can fully understand why Waterfi would make this Kindle waterproof because the last time I was on vacation and sitting by the pool the number of people with a Kindle was astounding. However, there were some people who would often get splashed and this was an issue, as their Kindle’s were getting wet, although they were very lucky not to get damaged.
Thankfully, Waterfi has now taken the worry factor out of it because it doesn’t matter if the Kindle Paperwhite gets completely wet because it will not get damaged.
Waterproof Kindle Paperwhite without a case – There is no protective case to make the Paperwhite waterproof, what we have is a durable internal barrier that is wrapped around all the sensitive electronic components. Believe it or not, the Waterfi Waterproofed Kindle can be submerged in water up to 210 feet, which we know this will never be exceeded; it’s a bit of an overkill really.
Main features are waterproof down to 210 feet, the ability to read in the bath, pool or at the beach, spills can be rinsed off, processor has been speeded up, improved display and an 8 week battery life.
The reason why we thought we would bring this waterproofed Kindle Paperwhite up again is for two reasons, the first is because it is that time of year where we start to go on more vacations, and so will want to take a reading device with us. The second is that the Paperwhite 3rd generation is still nowhere to be seen, and so this waterproof alternative could be just what you need because there is no telling how long you will be waiting.
