iPad Air 2 Touch ID pictured with iPhone 6

By Updated on

We all know that Apple will unveil a new iPhone 6 and also a new iPad Air 2 later this year, but now we are seeing more physical evidence to back up these claims. New photos have emerged, appearing to confirm a concealed iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2 with the Touch ID sensor.

The Touch ID sensor was new technology that Apple introduced with the iPhone 5S. It has proved to be a massive success and is odds on to be featured on all of Apple’s future mobile hardware since it is now considered a core feature.

This week, new photos have been spotted over in Taiwan, with the website Apple Club hosting the photo for all to see. We have included it here and it allegedly shows the iPhone 6, as well as the upcoming new iPad 2014 model with Touch ID sensors.

Of course, there is no guarantee that these pictures are real, but it’s a known fact that Apple test prototypes are already in circulation over in Asia and we usually see leaks from Taiwan in particular that end up being genuine.

Pay attention to the fact that the larger iPhone 6 is concealed as well inside a case, but you can definitely see that it is larger than the standard iPhone 5S size.

Remember that at WWDC 2014, Apple announced a breakthrough feature for iOS 8 – Touch ID will now support third-party apps. This paves the way for companies like Starbucks to allow you to log in to their app using a fingerprint only, eliminating passwords forever and giving consumers that extra layer of security that they require.

Let us know your thoughts on these new pictures. Are you excited about Touch ID being implemented on not only the iPhone 6, but also new iPad models now that third-party apps will be supported with iOS 8 this Fall?
