How are you getting on with the Watch Dogs story so far? Aiden Pearce is Ubisoft’s latest hero on their books, but after some recent quotes from the company’s CEO, the likelihood of Aiden Pearce returning for Watch Dogs 2 may be uncertain.
We’ve been having a great experience with Watch Dogs so far, without even going into the online modes too much since the campaign offers a satisfying adventure alone.
Although multiplayer is seen as the core experience to the newer generation of gamers, others still enjoy a good story above anything else and we have already seen Watch Dog fans talk about a potential sequel.
Despite the game only releasing almost one month ago, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has also been discussing a potential sequel, with specific regards to Aiden coming back – or not.
When asked by CVG in a recent interview if Aiden would be returning for Watch Dogs 2, here is what he had to say in reply:
“I can’t say because I don’t know actually. We’ll see.”
When asked about the criticism over bland Watch Dogs characters in the game, Guillemot was keen to take criticisms on board and strive to improve for the future:
“We knew it would be polarising; some people loved the characters and some didn’t. It was difficult to please everybody with that character. Now, having seen the reaction, we know what we will do next to improve that.”
Some interesting words indeed from the boss, but what do you make of it personally having played Watch Dogs yourself? Presuming that a sequel is on the way, would you like to see a different approach to Watch Dogs rather than the same ‘angry white man’ theme, which we see in many other games?
Without spoiling, give us your best ideas on what you would like from a Watch Dogs protagonist if Aiden Pearce isn’t coming back.
