Before the 2014 World Cup started we made sure we printed out a PDF wall chart for its schedule, some of us even opted for an Excel version, now the football matches have started we’ve been receiving an update on scores, players getting cards, and other highlights while playing a range of Xbox One games. These updates are provided after you install an app called BrazilNow.
Once downloaded, you will be able to receive a live World Cup update for every match in 2014, and while playing a game on Xbox One you might forget there’s a World Cup match currently taking place. Before long, you’re quickly reminded once something happens worth alerting gamers about.
During a game of FIFA 14 in the World Cup mode we received a number of updates for Spain vs. Netherlands, and as most of our readers know this was a game with many goals. The updates kept coming in, so at one point we used the voice command “Xbox, snap Brazil Now” to see the action positioned on the right in more detail.
If you don’t have the Brazil Now Xbox One app snapped, then alerts will subtly appear and then disappear. This is a great app that all Xbox One football fans should install, if you haven’t already that is. You can also snap the app next to movies, Skype, live TV, and much more.
Are you using the Brazil Now app for World Cup 2014 updates while gaming? How are you finding the voice snap commands, do they always work for you?
While we own and test both PS4 and Xbox One games, you have to give Microsoft credit for the way their software works. We noticed the difference in hardware between Sony and Microsoft with the last generation of consoles, and the same can be said with PS4 and Xbox One. While Sony released a smaller sleek looking PS4, the Xbox One is much bigger to play it safe with ventilation but their software works really well and delivers a lot more compared to the PS4 firmware updates.
The PS4 is great, but fans really are crying out for firmware 1.72 to bring many of the features already on PS3 like 3D Blu-ray support.
