2014 Google I/O Android app update lands

By Peter Chubb - Jun 13, 2014

With Google I/O less than two weeks away it stands to reason why the official Android app for the event has been updated. The Google I/O 2014 app update happened on June 11th, and while not much has changed over the previous version, it is all ready for the event on June 25th to the 26th.

This app will become your perfect companion throughout Google I/O 2014, and this applies for those of you who attend the event, or those of you that cannot make it.

There are several categories to this app, such as My Schedule, which you can personalize this to your specific needs, Explore, which gives you access to the conference agenda, as well as details on the speakers, themes and topics.

Map allows you to guide yourself through the conference thanks to its vector-based conference map technology. Social means you can follow what has been going on right from Google+. Video Library currently gives you access to videos from previous I/O events, and will update to this year’s content once proceedings get under way.

Google’s I/O app has been optimized for both smartphones and tablets, and so feel free to download or update the app now in preparation for this year’s Google I/O.

What do you expect to see at Google I/O this year, apart from the rumored Nexus 8 that is?
