No O2, Three UK 3G in Kent

Posted 9 Jun 2014, 09:05

We are hearing about a number of problems with no 3G in Margate, Kent, and some surrounding areas. Product Reviews has been contacted today by O2 Three UK users in this area having issues getting 3G, thanks to no signal on iPad, iPhone, and Android devices.

You can see one tweet below that was published in the last 30 minutes, and this reveals those emailing us are not alone with signal problems in East Kent today.

Do you have problems getting 3G signal on your smartphone or tablet today in the UK? If so, leave a comment with the area you’re in and what phone network you’re using.

Thanks to Product Reviews having one office local to this area, we’ve contacted a work colleague near this location and they confirmed 3G issues with ThreeUK today in the Thanet area. Let’s hope service returns to normal soon, again let us know below if everything is back up and running. We’ve reached out to THREE for a comment on what’s exactly happening.

Update: We’ve noticed a number of other locations in Kent with no 3G signal on ThreeUK. One tweet featured above reveals problems in Sittingbourne, and others talk about no 3G on iPhone and Galaxy phones in other surrounding areas.

3 Mobile signal in Ashford has been getting worse and worse over the last few months until yesterday where it just refused to work with any apps. My handset was indicating that i had full 3G signal (HSDPA) but nothing would load or refresh. The speed test app wouldn’t even load.

As little as 2 months ago, signal was perfect. Easily fast enough to stream HD video. But as i said above, its been getting worse and worse. I tried contacting 3 mobile about it but they refuse to speak to anyone without some 6 digit PIN that i know/never issued with one. As other networks are being affected by this (apparently T-Mobile EE had some issues yesterday), i suspect that its an infrastructure issue rather than localized antenna being down.
