When an iPhone or iPad experiences battery life problems it can be a nightmare to try and fix it. This is why we welcome the new iOS 8 battery usage information that reveals how much battery is being used by each app and you can see a screenshot of this very tab below.
The apps listed under iOS 8’s battery usage information include both native apps and also 3rd party apps, so you’ll even get insight into any battery drain problems with default applications.
This has happened a few times with Android in the past and also iPhone 4S, 5, and 5S users complaining about battery drain without knowing exactly what apps are hurting battery life. Apple obviously understands there’s been a lot of issues with iPads/iPhones receiving battery drain, and giving iOS 8 users extra insight into battery usage is a step in the right direction in our opinion.
Are you looking forward to having extra insight into what apps are using battery with iOS 8? You will be able to see battery usage within the “Last 24 Hours” and “Last 7 Days” thanks to two tabs with those names. Apple also explain that the percentages “show the proportion of battery used by each app” when iPhone or iPad is not charging.
