iOS 7.1.2 update today?

By Alan Ng - Jun 2, 2014

While all eyes are on iOS 8 today as Apple prepares to publicly unveil their new mobile software for the first time, there is also a big demand from consumers who are expecting Apple to go live with the iOS 7.1.2 release time as well.

We told you a few weeks ago about iOS 7.1.2 when heavy rumors were circulating and suggesting that iOS 7.1.2 would be released on May 21. Unfortunately it didn’t happen though and now whispers have emerged on possible plans on Apple launching a fresh update directly after their WWDC 2014 keynote is finished.

One pleasing scenario could be that regular iOS users could be getting an update to iOS 7.1.2 on the day of iOS 8, while those with access to Apple’s developer program will be able to enjoy the iOS 8 beta 1 download.

We don’t think iOS 7.1.2 will be coming just yet though, as really it hasn’t been too long since we had iOS 7.1.1 for mobile and tablets. If there is a chance that a new update will come to fix iOS 7.1.1 battery life drain though, consumers will happily take it with arms open.

There has been no prior hints to suggest that a new iOS update will be coming today aside from iOS 8 beta 1. Apple likes to surprise users though, so let’s see what happens in the hours to come.

Are you secretly hoping for Apple to release iOS 7.1.2 today or do you think it won’t happen for a while?
