Most fans are expecting an iOS 8 announcement to be the main focus of WWDC 2014, but we’re here to remind you that something potential bigger may be on the cards for Tim Cook and co.
Aside from iOS 8, we are also hearing that Apple may be planning to unveil an iHome WWDC 2014 announcement, Apple’s answer to smart home management and a way for consumers to interact with their Apple devices like never before.
It is not the first time that we have heard about potential rumors on this possibility, but fresh evidence has come in suggesting that June 2 will be the date when we finally hear discussion on consumers being able to control lights and other homewares simply with their iPhone or iPad.
Not only light switches, but Apple could have a big say in the future of home security systems if the iHome project really takes off. Imagine reaching a scenario where an Apple product user could arrive home and have all of the lights switch on, alarm systems deactivate and heating turn on simply by signing into Apple’s iHome service.

It could be the stuff of dreams for some consumers and it could be set for a big announcement at WWDC 2014 that may even overshadow iOS 8.
What are your initial thoughts on this? Remember that Apple already has a patent for the technology so this is no mere rumor anymore.
Do you like the sound of Apple controlling your home appliances in years to come? Would you agree that this announcement would be even bigger than the unveil of iOS 8?
