The 2014 Paris motor show is still a few months away, but this has not stopped the 2015 Skoda Fabia from breaking its camouflage early. Most of the images we have seen of this car were heavily disguised, and so these are the clearest images of its exterior to date.
The 2015 Skoda Fabia exterior changes are laid bare for all to see and we can see how the smaller model has taken some inspiration from the Octavia, especially at the front and rear. However, Autocar does point out that it has a sleeker roofline and its bodywork has more creases, something that seems to be a trend with current car design.
Some of the other changes that have been pointed are a slightly longer than the current model, along with a slight increase in width to help offer greater cabin space.
It was first assumed that Skoda were going to go with the smaller MQB-A platform, but instead decided on a redesign of its current platform. Speaking of the new model itself, there seems to be some confusion,, as many websites, along with Autocar keep referring to this as the 2014 Skoda Fabia, when we can clearly see here on the Skoda website that it will be classed as a 2015 model.
The 2015 Skoda Fabia price is not yet available, but we hope to learn these details and more in October. However, we can tell you that the new model is likely to make use of 1.2-liter and 1.4-liter petrol engines, as well as a 1.6-liter diesel.
We have to wonder if Skoda know what it is doing, as it is easy to see that this new design looks outdated, and we are not the only ones thinking this?
