With the UK set to get shipments of the Surface Pro 3 in August, it was only a matter of time before Microsoft made a price adjustment to the outgoing model, although they will more than likely keep this on as the cheaper model.
The Surface Pro 2 price has now become cheaper in the UK thanks to a much-needed price drop. The discount is an enticing one, and so Microsoft has done just what was expected of them. We have to inform you that this Surface Pro 2 price drop only apples to the UK, and so if you live in the US, then you are out of luck. This is more than likely because demand has been very poor in the UK, and is a way to rally sales.
While you may think this is not fair, neither is it that you get to play with the Surface Pro 3 first, so it is swings and roundabouts. Before you get too excited, this is no Surface Pro 2 fire sale, which is what is needed if Microsoft aims to shift a huge number of units, especially as they only command a small percentage of tablet sales.
New Microsoft Surface Pro 2 UK pricing – The 64GB model now costs £569.00, the 128GB £659.00, the 256GB £899.00 and finally the 512GB model now costs £1,289.00. These are a saving of between £140-£150. All four models also come with 200GB of OneDrive storage for free, along with unlimited Skype minutes.
If you have pre-ordered the Surface Pro 3, then you need to be aware that Microsoft has admitted that there is an issue with them not charging, although a fix is already in hand and will be ready for when these are released to the public by way of a day-one firmware update.
