Those of you getting stuck with the Watch Dogs install process might also notice a WS-37504-9 PS4 error code being displayed, especially if you leave the game and close the app, then try and open it again. We’ve had a few emails from PR readers today asking us if we’ve notice these messages within our review of Watch Dogs, and we can confirm this message and install problems as well.
The issues seem to be related to digital copies only, if you have install problems with a disc copy then leave a comment, although further to our earlier findings we notice the game is still installing but very slowly.
Speed up the install process – if you don’t install the game fully, then you will likely not be able to pass the stadium and need to wait. This of course is very annoying, as hundreds report in forums on launch day, but by exiting Watch Dogs it seems that the install process speeds up. During our review, we were stuck on 87% installed for over an hour, then after leaving the game and letting it install we noticed a jump to 93% within 5 minutes.
During our tests, we noticed the Watch Dogs WS-37504-9 PS4 error message once returning to the game and it keep appearing for a few seconds. Some of our readers feel this could signal problems with PSN being down, or even some sort of server maintenance with Sony or Ubisoft. We checked the PSN status and everything seems to be online, although we cannot confirm if Ubisoft have issues with their servers today.
Update: We’ve just received confirmation from Ubisoft that error code WS-37504-9 on PS4 isn’t related to them, and after finding hundreds of complaints with this message 4 weeks ago after people installed PS4 update 1.70, it’s obvious this code is related to Sony servers and not Ubisoft.
