Samsung Gear 3 could overcome limitations

We have to laugh at some analyst predictions, such as the one where the smartwatch is just a fad, and that it will not amount to anything near the smartphone or tablet, and will just fade away. However, it would seem that the likes of LG, Motorola and Samsung have yet to get that memo, as they are committed to this new product range.

Samsung has committed more than most and while they admitted rushing out the Galaxy Gear, the new Gear 2 lineup is far better in every way, and things are set to get even better if we are to go on a few Samsung patents.

Possible Samsung Galaxy Gear 3 features – Most touchscreen smartphones have their limitations because of the small amount of area you have to play with, and so Samsung is looking at ways to overcome these limitations.

The way they aim to do this is by waving your hands in front of the camera on one of their smartwatches, which will then allow you to perform more complex tasks. According to the patent, this would allow you to send content to your TV with the flick of your hand.

You will also notice that an upcoming Samsung Gear device will have a round face like that of the Moto 360, which to us is a far better design than the current Gear 2 range and the LG G Watch. This would allow Samsung to fully optimize the touchscreen interface, as well as a rotating ring around the outside of the phone.

These new patents for an upcoming Samsung Gear smartwatch can be found here, but do you think we are likely to see this on the Gear 3 lineup?
