Facebook Most Recent skips default on Android

By Updated on

It has been three days since the Facebook Most Recent went missing within the iPhone app, although the same problems hit Android with an update yesterday after so-called improvements were made to fix previous issues. Google play don’t list a version number thanks to the range of devices, unlike the v10 on iOS, but similar new features arrived with the redesign.

Facebook users complained about the Most Recent skipping a default setting on Android almost right away, just like iOS users did 3 days ago, although there is a solution to get the Facebook app back to its Most Recent news feed default most Android users were used to.

How to get Most Recent News Feed back in Facebook app for Android – In a nutshell, you just need to tap the more button followed by scrolling to the feeds part and tap the header to reveal more settings. You then just tap the Most Recent for your latest news feed, although this is a pain for those that are fed-up with having to do this after the latest update.

One Product Reviews reader had this to say, “The new Facebook app update released this week and the news feed sucks, I’m seeing random posts from my friends rather than Most Recent. Please fix this issue right away”. Another added, “I hate having to select most recent every time I open my Facebook app on Android, why do Facebook not want us to use most recent? I now hate the news feed and now only see rubbish rather than the important posts”.

Why do you think Facebook decided to remove the Most Recent setting as default within iOS and Android apps?

If this sounds like you as well, then try the solution above and let us know if it worked for you along with your thoughts on these changes.
