Jaguar has never been able to recreate the magic of the E-Type, but they had a good go with the F-Type last year, which has proved very popular, although it is not without its problems. However, those issues will be addressed, but we are not sure how long it will take for this to be implemented, more on this in our precious article.
Going back to the old model, some of you will remember that there were meant to be 18 Lightweight E-types, but for some reason Jaguar only made 12. This was a real shame because while these race inspired versions never lived up to their potential on the track, they were still part of British racing heritage.

Thankfully, the Heritage Business side of Jaguar is set to build six new Lightweight E-types, and will no doubt draw a huge amount of attention from car fans, especially racing drivers.
New Jaguar Lightweight E-type specs – Jaguar is to remain as faithful as possible to the original design, which begins by using the unused chassis numbers that had been allocated in the 1960s. The 3.8-litre straight six engine is to be made from aluminum, as will its body, a lot like the 2015 Ford F-150.
Those of you who manage to purchase one of these very special cars will be able to choose their own color, as well as their trim specifications. However, the new Jaguar Lightweight E-type interior will be sparse because it is the Lightweight Edition and so weight savings had to be made back then. We know materials are much lighter these days, but including modern technology in the interior would not be keeping with the original model from the 60s.
New Jaguar Lightweight E-type price – This will no doubt be the biggest question being asked, but for reasons unknown, Jaguar has decided to keep the mystery going until the summer. We have seen recreations of this model in the past, one of which you can see below, but they are a long way off the original mode.
