We have some news for you now, concerning the game that was recently the best selling mobile game in history. The infamous Flappy Bird is coming back, as speculated, with a Flappy Bird ’2′ release date now expected to happen at the end of Summer.
We know that a Flappy Bird return was coming, after developer Dong Nguyen previously hinted that he was ready to return after infamously pulling the plug on the game that was bringing in $50,000 USD a day for Dong.
Now we know it is coming back for sure. Dong Nguyen himself has confirmed that the Flappy Bird return date will be sometime in August, although no specific date on when the download will be live again on the Google Play Store and App Store.
When it does return though, this time you’ll be able to enjoy Flappy Bird multiplayer for the first time. It sounds scary thinking about it considering how addictive the first version of the game was, but Dong insists that when the game comes back it will be ‘less addictive’ – whatever that means.
With over 50 million downloads for Flappy Bird, it will be interesting to see if the demand is still there after the removal and of course, after countless clones have come and gone trying to get a slice of the pie.
Flappy Bird multiplayer sounds interesting though. Let us know your thoughts on this and whether you are willing to give Flappy Bird 2.0 a second try.
Do you really think it will be less addictive?
