Those of you who are patiently awaiting the glorious arrival of The Witcher 3, may be keeping one eye on the inevitable debate regarding The Witcher 3 PS4 resolution and The Witcher 3 Xbox One resolution.
Although some may just like to focus on the gameplay without stress, it’s clear that others really do want to know which version of the game will run better with any minute details.
The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt release date is not until 2015 now after originally being scheduled to ship in 2014. That does however give developers CD Projekt Red the extra time they need to enhance the game and hopefully for Xbox One users – ensure that the game is on par with the PS4 version.
We have just seen a confirmation that Watch Dogs is 1080p on PS4, while it could be another game that won’t reach 1080p on Xbox One. Those interested in picking up The Witcher 3 on Xbox One will hope that the same fate doesn’t happen to this game, but it looks like the developers are remaining tight-lipped.
In a recent interview with Eurogamer, co-founder Marcin Iwinski has been speaking about the game and in particular – answering questions on the inevitable resolution war between PS4 and Xbox One versions.
Here is what he had to say which should be of interest to some of you:
“Will there be big differences? Really I don’t think so. It’s too early to say. If there will be, they will be tiny. It will be more like people talking ‘hey, I have this and you have that and this is better’.”
He also felt the need to say that the whole debate on resolution right now is for Sony’s benefit and called it a ‘PR differentiation’.
The game will obviously look amazing either way and PC owners have nothing to worry about being the lead platform. The developer brings up a good point though on whether 720p vs 1080P is so important to gamers if they can’t tell the difference on a general play-through.
Where do you stand on this debate? Will you not pick up the Xbox One version of the game if it is not 1080p native resolution?
