Red Dead Redemption PC before PS4 likelihood

By Updated on

Just when you thought that a Red Dead Redemption 2 release date may be around the corner with E3 2014 looming, it looks like we have some very interesting news. A Red Dead Redemption PC release is apparently on the way after a recent discovery and could finally give PC owners the dream that they have been waiting a long time to see.

You won’t need us to remind you how massive this is for PC owners. Red Dead Redemption was a game that released back in 2010 which seems ancient now, but a game that went on to receive universal praise.

At the time of release, there was inevitable disappointment that the game was only released for PS3 and Xbox 360, with PC owners having to bear the fact that such a great open-world game, with mod potential akin to GTA, went begging.

That wait could be over though sooner rather than later. A PC version of the game has turned up on Microsoft’s compatibility website for Windows, even listing that Red Dead Redemption will support Windows 8.1 – the company’s newest version of the software to date.

Even more exciting is that this information on Microsoft’s website can only appear if the product in question has been tested or has been submitted by the developer – in this case Rockstar. As a result, this could rule out any photoshop theories and it could have spoiled one of Rockstar’s intended E3 surprises.

While the thought of Red Dead Redemption on PC with mod support is nothing short of mouthwatering, we do wonder at the same time what the likelihood is for Rockstar to also deliver Red Dead Redemption on PS4.

The demand to see the series on PS4, especially the Undead Nightmare expansion would be sky high among fans we feel, so let us know your reaction to this piece of juicy news.

PS4 owners: Do you hope that this evidence for the PC version reappearing increases the chances of seeing the game on PS4 in the future? For those who would buy this day one on PC, let us know what this game would mean to you on PC hardware.
