The battery life for last year’s HTC One was one of its weaknesses when compared to the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S4, and while HTC has made some improvements to its new model, the M8, it still lags behind the S5 in terms of battery performance, which we highlighted in a recent hands-on review.
Do not let that put you off this handset, as the HTC One M8 is considered one of, if not the best Android handset on the market, and there are ways in which you can get more from its battery.
Resolving HTC One M8 battery life problems – As with all phones they are optimized in order to get the best of both worlds, so battery life and performance, and so there are tweaks to be made for those of you who would rather sacrifice a bit of performance and overall feel of the M8 in order to squeeze more life from the battery.
Making setting changes is nothing new because it has become a ritual whenever a new flagship handset gets released, and so this HTC One M8 battery life tips video below is to be expected. There are a few quick battery savings tips, along with others that need to be considered before being implemented.
Some of the more obvious changes would be to the brightness, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, Airplane mode, Mobile data, CPU power and much more, as many of these are not needed to be on at all times, more details of which can be better explained in the video.
However, if you hate the thought of holding back the true performance of the HTC One M8 just to get more battery life, then there is another alternative, a battery case.
The HTC One M8 Mophie Juice battery case pack has yet to be released, but like last year, its release is certain to happen soon. When it does we believe it will add another 2500mAh battery to the one that is already powering the M8, which pretty much extends the battery by 100 percent. This will make it less likely to have to charge your new HTC smartphone while on the go. As for price, it should be the same as this year’s model, which is $99.95.
