Apple has just informed us that iTunes Connect will be down for scheduled maintenance on May 14, 2014. Wednesday is normally their favorite day of the week for performing such upgrades, and it comes at no surprise to us that this update is also planned on the same day.
The statement we received explains that the scheduled maintenance has a start time of 8AM pacific time, so you might see iTunes Connect down in the UK around 4PM. The planned outage should last for around four hours, although from past experience it could last a little longer if they run into any problems.
You can expect both content delivery and iTunes Connect to be down during this time. It is not clear exactly what work will be done during the May 14 maintenance, so if you’re a developer and notice any major changes or new features after the service comes back up, make sure you leave a comment below.
It is worth noting that if you’re having problems with Apple’s iTunes software not opening, or if it won’t load, then this shouldn’t be related to the iTunes Connect maintenance thanks to that service being offered for developers only.
