With Fallout 4 the worst kept secret within Bethesda’s hidden locker, many fans are hoping to see a surprise Fallout 4 announcement at E3 2014. This week however, we have seen some interesting activity from Bethesda and fans have instantly jumped at the chance of linking this directly with Fallout 4.
It turns out that Bethesda are actually in need of the community’s help. We’ve spotted that the Skyrim developer is reaching out and calling on gamers in the US to participate in a closed play test.
The application for this play test has leaked and can be viewed here. Although Fallout 4 is specifically not mentioned, we have seen further on in the application form that Bethesda are asking all sorts of questions relating to first-person shooters and RPGS.
We think we speak on behalf of most gamers in saying that we hope that this is secretly related to Fallout 4. Speculation on social boards seems to elude to the same conclusion, so this could be a nice little clue right on the eve of E3 2014.
Assuming that this is Fallout 4 related, do you think it is surprising that Bethesda would be asking for help publicly, given the high nature of the game? We see that participants are asked to sign NDAs but you can just imagine news still leaking online afterwards.
We love the fact that Bethesda are also willing to make it worth while to anyone who is selected: “You may, however, receive games or swag in connection with your participation in the play test.” Imagine if that game includes a free copy of Fallout 4 before release?
Let us know your thoughts on this and whether you think it could be Fallout 4 related. Clutching at straws again, or something promising?
