When I got my first TomTom, the maps had to be paid for and there was no Live Traffic. The next model I got came with free lifetime Maps, but still had to pay for the Live service. However, some of the latest models now offer these services free for life, which as you would imagine will save you a small fortune over the years.

TomTom launches new models all of the time and have now brought out some new models for various budgets and needs.

New TomTom GPS models for 2014 – are the TomTom GO 40, 50 and 60, all of which come with Lifetime TomTom Traffic, which means if you are on a journey and there is traffic you will be rerouted thanks to TomTom’s Traffic technology.

This information is thanks to a series of satellites and the help of millions of TomTom owners sharing data.

If you are one of those who feel as though you can live without sat-nav, then the moment you try a GPS device out for the first time you will kick yourself for waiting so long.

We know you can use one of the free map apps, such as Google Maps, but this is not as good as a standalone device, such as the new range of TomTom’s.

The new TomTom GO 40, 50 and 60, are the base models from the range and come with a choice of 4.3-inch, 5-inch or 6-inch. We can tell you that the price of the TomTom Go 40 is £139.99, but the other two models have yet to be priced. However, you can find more details on each of these by visiting the TomTom UK website.
