Chevy Colorado 2015 price, specs, and MPG speculation

By Updated on

General Motors left a gap in the market when they pulled out of the midsize pickup segment, so it is nice to see they will be filling that hole once again when they release the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado. One of the reasons for the Colorado’s hiatus was due to a lack of performance in the engine department, but GM is back and they are ready to take on the Toyota Tacoma and Nissan Frontier.

To help the success of the new Colorado is timing because it is right off the back of the full-size Silverado, and with a sportier look and feel, GM is surely onto a winner?

Some speculation: Having said that, there are various aspects of the truck that General Motors needs to get right, and one of the first is the Chevy Colorado 2015 price. It is surprising just how scarce information is on price because it seems as though GM has not shared anything as yet. However, it is widely rumored to cost less than the Silverado, with some suggestions of less than $20,000. Does this seem right to you?

Chevy Colorado 2015 price

Some of the main Chevy Colorado 2015 specs that matter include four-wheel drive, 5 or 6-foot bed lengths, a choice of engines, which we will get to in a moment, and up to 6,700 pounds towing capacity. We could be here all day listing the rumored 2015 Chevrolet Colorado specs, but we thought it would be better for you to watch the video below that will better explain all what is new with the 2015 model, which as you may already know has a release date set for later this fall.

There are to be two engine options the 2.5L DOHC I-4 and the 3.6L direct-injected V6, which produce 193 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque and 302 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque respectively.

One of the key subjects that has come up is the 2015 Chevy Colorado MPG rating, and again, GM and Chevrolet have been very coy on this information. However, we have a feeling that it will be around 30 miles per gallon highway.

We know that we cannot shed much light onto key aspects of this upcoming truck, but with its release moving ever closer, we hope to see the first 2015 Chevy Colorado reviews over the coming months.

I would be really happy to see the 2015 Chevy Colorado release with a price under $20,000, cannot wait to find out.

Less than $20, 000 is a joke. You’re going to be looking at $30, 000 and over.

If they would release an off-road model with upgraded suspension, 6 cyl, manual transmission, crew cab, I’d order one immediately. That’s what I have now in my Nissan Frontier Nismo. Hopefully they offer packages that compete with the trim levels available from Nissan (Pro 4x) and Toyota (TRD). I’m a huge fan of American trucks and I’m excited to see them get back in the mid-size truck market.
