If you are looking for a quick Minecraft Android app fix, one alternative that you may want to tryout is Worldcraft 2. It essentially offers a similar experience to Minecraft Pocket Edition, but is free to download and live right now on the Google Play Store.
Worldcraft 2 has been available for less than a month on Android, but has already racked up millions of downloads, not to mention thousands of 5-star reviews on the Google Play app listing as well.
Gameplay has become rather addictive since launch as Worldcraft offers the combination of both gameplay on random generated maps, or also the option of playing on custom maps which you can create yourself.
I've had worldcraft for 2 days and I'm addicted. Way too much fun

Worldcraft also offers online multiplayer, with a password service allowing you to play with your friends only on favorite maps. The built in chat mode makes Worldcraft 2 hard to beat, although there has been some early Worldcraft 2 problems regarding Ad removal.
Hopefully the developers will look at the feedback and see that Worldcraft 2 Ads are blocking some of the placement areas and it needs to be looked at in a future update.
Have you been playing Worldcraft 2? If so, let us know how you think it compares to Minecraft Pocket Edition.
