At the start of this year we took a quick look at when the Tesco Hudl 2 tablet release date might land, although today we can finally give you the month thanks to an interview on BBC Radio 5 Live. During the radio show we heard from Philip Clarke in regard to both a new Tesco Android smartphone and also the Hudl 2 release.
The first tablet managed to top half a million sales, and Tesco’s Hudl 2 tablet is expected to arrive in a refreshed form this September. You can count on a number of services and apps being preloaded, as with the first generation, but you can also expect improved specs and some fine tuning after what Tesco learned from the first tablet.
While no comments were made on the Hudl 2 tablet price, Tesco will want to still keep it low and this will of course limit how much higher the specs will get. The same cannot be said for a new smartphone, which Tesco’s chief executive states will be similar to the Samsung Galaxy S5 in terms of features. Clarke explains this will mean a much higher price compared to the tablet, so the phone isn’t expected to be an impulse purchase like customers did with the tablet.
What would be the ideal Hudl 2 tablet specs, and at what price point should Tesco sell the device? Personally, we would be surprised if the cost changed at all although current owners will be looking for software updates at some point in the future, and some of Product Reviews readers even want “Android KitKat for the original Hudl”.
