The V6 Jaguar F-type has proven to be a very popular car since its release and while there are several cars to rival it, when it comes to look and passion, the F-Type beats its competition. However, Maserati looks set to take the fight to Jaguar with its Alfieri sports car, which is set to be released in 2015.
The 2016 Jaguar F-Type rival, the Maserati Alfieri looks to be up to the job in terms of design if we were to go on the concept renders, although we also got a glimpse of the concept model at the Geneva motor show this year.

We can expect the very first Maserati Alfieri to be released next year, although will be classed as a 2016 model. This means that we can expect to see some decent Jaguar F-Type vs. Maserati Alfieri comparisons for 2015, but which will come out on top?
You will have to wait until 2017 until a convertible Maserati Alfieri, which is certainly something to look forward to. The Alfieri already has a good platform to start from, as it will be heavily based on the Ghibli and Quattroporte models beneath the skin.
Expected Maserati Alfieri specs are as follows – A V6, 3.0-liter turbocharged engine pushing out 404 horsepower. There will be other options of this, one offering 444 horsepower and the other 513hp.
As for pricing, we expect to see the Maserati Alfieri to start at £60,000, which is a good price if it is able to compete with the F-Type.
Maserati has some other models launching over the next few years, but the Alfieri does look to be the most interesting to us, although it could do with a more powerful V8 engine option to fully take the fight to the F-Type.
There are two videos below, the first is the Alfieri driving and what it sounds like, whereas the other is a closer look at the car during the Geneva 2014 car show.
