2015 F-150 gas mileage deliberated with aluminum

When you think of American trucks you think of huge vehicles that are not only awe-inspiring to look at, but also loves to drink fuel at a vast rate compared to other vehicles. However, Ford looks set to buck that trend with the 2015 F-150, which we know will be far more fuel-efficient thanks to its revolutionary aluminum design with its new EcoBoost engines.

We know that other pick-up trucks have improved over the years, but whether they will be able to offer the same as the 2015 F-150 gas mileage is still up for debate. Ford has managed to make a huge 700-pound weight saving, which is a massive amount, one that is certain to help offer a decent 2015 Ford F-150 mpg rating.

It is worth pointing out that not all new F-150s will come with this kind of weight saving, as far as we know it looks as though only the 2015 F-150 Crew Cab models will benefit from this weight-saving.

When we say that Ford looks set to buck the trend, we mean for other Ford trucks because rival truck makers have been making huge weight savings for a while now, but we have to wonder what people think about this improvement in the 2015 F-150 gas mileage thanks to the helpfulness of aluminum?

We know that the new EcoBoost engine from Ford has undergone a redesign and as such will offer more power than the current units, although not as much as some rivals, as well as being much lighter thanks to its new aluminum construction. However, it would seem that some people are a little weary of the use of the new aluminum EcoBoost engine, and so are choosing to purchase the current F-150 models instead.

Something else that has forced some people to go for the current Ford F150 is because there will no longer be a the V8 model because they are unsure of the upcoming 5-liter model, although we do know that its MPG and torque ratings will be far better.

Where do you stand on the aluminum factor of the 2015 F-150, are you prepared to sacrifice what you already know just to gain a few extra miles per gallon?
