Today, we noticed a new Snapchat update for Android on Google play thanks to the latest version having an updated date of May 3, 2014. The problems have been mounting up for Android users and we did expect an upgrade to fix current issues, but the new Snapchat update arrived without any details, so it’s hard to see what bugs got fixed.
The latest version of this chatting app lets users video and message chat, although these features have caused a few issues for select people and we’ve heard about problems trying to clear your feed in Snapchat, and one of the most common complaints is to do with being able to open new snaps and not getting the “failure to connect to the server” message.
Have you had any problems since installing the new Snapchat update, which went live yesterday for Android users? If so, can you view your snaps with the latest version?
You can see a number of problems a few Product Reviews readers had in our last article, which looked at the design refresh and new features. Although, a new Snapchat update landed on Android just yesterday, so we cannot confirm how many of the problems remain after that update thanks to no release notes. Again, leave a comment if you’ve installed the latest update and still getting the same problems.
There are a range of other issues being experienced, although it is worth pointing out these could be problems with select Android phones and might be fixed in a future update. Some people cannot even use their camera or microphone within the app after the new update. After logging out, some users find their password and usernames stop working, but again this might be an issue with servers rather than the app itself.
If we manage to find the release notes for the May 3rd update, then we’ll be sure to publish the details on this page.
