You might notice the Forge of Empires servers go down in a couple of days, which will be due to update 1.25 taking place on April 30th, although the downtime is expected to be only for a short period of time. This news came within a blog post delivering the full changes, new features, and UI bug fixes.
There isn’t a specific time set for when the Forge of Empires servers will be down, not one disclosed anyway, although those behind the online game were detailed in their explanation of what’s changing within this blog post. You will see that the two new big features include hardware acceleration and an expanded city map.

These changes will benefit those of you wanting a smoother experience when playing online that takes advantage of your graphics card rather than just CPU, and of course being able to expand your city map more will always be welcomed, especially if you’ve been playing Forge of Empires for many months.
Not all updates go to plan, although to be fair we’ve spent many months reviewing Forge of Empires and never experienced any long periods of outage. The blog post stated, “a short period of downtime” might be noticed during the update, so if you run into a longer blackout or other problems with the server status then leave a comment below.
