With the Samsung Galaxy S3 two years old and the Note 2 around a year and a half years of age, it was all too obvious that these two handsets were not going to be first on the list when it came to getting the Android 4.4 update.
We were all ready to ask if you still had faith that both handsets were going to receive the update, seeing as though we were teased that the update for the Note 2 and S3 were inbound, but thinks have taken an unexpected turn.
Those of you who kept the faith will be pleased that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4 KitKat update is now available for download. However, this is just a slow rollout because the update has started in France, although we expect carrier specific version of Android 4.4 to become available to the Note 2 in the coming hours and days.
However, we might be a little optimistic here, although there were rumors that the update would be made available for the Note 2 by May, which isn’t that far away.
This leads us to believe that the Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.4 KitKat download will happen pretty soon as well, although we are not sure what country the update will start to appear first.
Most recent news suggested the S3 update would happen around the same time as the Note 2, which we find a little odd seeing as though the S3 has been around longer and is in desperate need of the latest Android update.
We have learned from Galaxy S3 owners that they have been keeping the faith that the update will happen soon, and with the Note 2 Android 4.4 rollout happening now, it seems they were right to keep faith.
