Improving Nest Thermostat availability, not price

By Updated on

The heating systems in your homes have not progressed as far as we would have hoped over the years, but thanks to the age of smartphones and tablets, things are about to take a huge leap. In time the traditional room stat and programmer will be a thing of the past, and we will all be controlling our heating with the use of an app.

This technology is already being realized, with the likes of Google, Tado and even British Gas getting in on the action. The Nest Learning Thermostat from Google will learn from your habits and how it believes it should heat your home, but there is a downside, these have been a little tough to get hold of, and its price is still a concern.

Google has been improving Nest availability, and so you will be happy to learn that this learning thermostat is now available from the Google Play Store. The price in the UK is still £179,00, which is a lot to pay. There are hopes that the price will come down, but more people need to buy Nest in order for Google to reduce its price.

Nest Learning Thermostat hurdles – Nest has had to endure a few hurdles, although many of these have been resolved thanks to a few new updates. What was once a temperamental device has now been rock-solid for many owners. There is a still a way to go, but things have started to look up.

We would like to offer a Nest vs. Tado comparison, and while we have our review unit all ready, we are just waiting on the certified installer to come to get the Tado Intelligent Heating up and running.
