If you are a PS4 or Xbox One owner, you are probably keeping one eye on what is next on the horizon in terms of 2014 PS4 release dates and similarly Xbox One game releases in 2014 as well.

Both consoles have some fantastic games on the way, many multiplatform but many console exclusives as well which are not found on the other system – not including PC.

With this in mind, we give you a brief reminder of what you can expect to see in the coming months on both consoles, as well as a heads-up of any games that you may have to make preparations for in terms of finances.

The most obvious release that is next on the calendar for both PS4 and Xbox One is Watch Dogs, which will arrive globally on May 27. However, if you own the PS4 you should be reminded that there’s some console exclusives that you need to watch out for as well.

These include The Amazing Spider-Man 2 which is seemingly in limbo on the Xbox One, Daylight, MLB 14 The Show, Transitor and Bound by Flame – all are going to be on the PS4 in May and won’t have a release on the Xbox One.

Before Watch Dogs, both consoles will also have the Wolfenstein reboot to enjoy from Machine Games, which will release on May 20.

Looking ahead, major game releases in June include EA Sports UFC and The Elder Scrolls Online, on both consoles. After that, it is back to the multi-platform format with big hitters such as The Evil Within, Destiny, Alien: Isolation, Shadow of Mordor and the highly anticipated Batman: Arkham Knight all landing on both consoles.

Destiny is set to be a massive release on both consoles in 2014.

Remember that there are also games on the way that don’t have a release date yet, these include Assassin’s Creed Unity, Ubisoft’s The Crew, Call of Duty and Driveclub on PS4.

We’ll also have some fantastic new game announcements at E3 2014 to look forward to as well, but we think most will agree that there are plenty of exciting games to wait for, that are already confirmed on both consoles.

Which game would you say you are most looking forward to on either console? Do you think the PS4 has a stronger line with more exclusive titles than Xbox One?
