We have some great news for Xbox One owners now. The Xbox One April 2014 update is now live, as Microsoft has started to roll out the update as of a few hours ago. You’ll also be pleased to hear that this is no minor update, with Xbox One users being able to enjoy some brand new features.
Regardless of what next-gen console you own, it’s never nice having a brand new firmware update but without any new functionality. PS4 users are patiently waiting for the PS4 1.70 update to arrive, but still there’s no evidence on when it will go live.
Xbox One users meanwhile have a brand new update to enjoy. Major Nelson has also revealed the full Xbox One April update notes for you to read through – confirming a host of new changes.
One of the big improvements that we can see involves a silent reboot feature after system updates, as well as system update on demand. This now means that you can now have the option of updating your Xbox One console automatically and once the update is done – the console will return to standby upon completion.
Microsoft has also added a game save progress bar, Blu-ray player 50 Hz video output support, notifications when friends sign in to Xbox Live and also Improved GameDVR video quality.
We have to say that this is a very pleasing update with lots of new functionality to be happy about. Microsoft has been working hard on their Xbox One updates and we can now look forward to what will come with the next update.
The update could be live now in your area. It’s rolling out as we speak but could take a few days to reach you – let us know if you are downloading at the moment.
Is this one of the best Xbox One updates so far since launch?
