With Watch Dogs set to release this May, many of you are probably wondering what has happened to the Wii U version of the game. Fortunately, we have an update to give you on this as it looks like Watch Dogs will be available towards the end of the year on Nintendo’s console.
If you are not aware yet, the Wii U version of Watch Dogs was delayed so that Ubisoft could work on the other versions of the game which also received a delay from its initial schedule to launch with next-gen consoles.
Watch Dogs will now land on the likes of PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on May 27 as a worldwide launch. Until now, we had heard nothing on the status of the Wii U version, but Ubisoft themselves appear to have given out some information for us.
According to the company’s own UPlay website, Watch Dogs Wii U is coming during the ‘Fall 2014’ period. This means that we could see a Watch Dogs Wii U release date around September or October time, which is obviously well after the Summer release for all other platforms.
This four or five month window should give Ubisoft the time they need to focus their efforts on the Wii U version and ensure that we are not talking about a poor port when it comes to release time.
Hopefully Ubisoft will give out more details on the Wii U version soon, as we think everyone will agree that news has been very quiet lately.
Are you still planning to buy the Wii U version despite all of the setbacks?
