Since launching in the UK on Friday, The Elder Scrolls Online has had fantastic sales over the weekend and enjoyed chart success. The MMO is currently only available on PC and Mac and has entered the UK’s top 10 games chart in second place, impressive since the game has only been available for a few days.
There is no doubting that pre-orders for The Elder Scrolls Online was high, but normally chart toppers are console games. There has been a huge wave of anticipation for the ESO release, this will continue until the game launches on the PS4 and Xbox One in June. Meanwhile PC and Mac players are enjoying this huge online experience, with the patch notes for update 1.0.2 being released earlier on.
Sadly for the ESO, FIFA 14 has returned to the top of the chart overall and continues to enjoy good sales despite being launched back in September. Titanfall sits below the Elder Scrolls Online and retains a strong standing in the chart since launch. Titanfall is currently only available on Xbox One and PC, the Xbox 360 release in the UK is on April 11th so expect the game to be challenging for number 1 next week.
Call of Duty: Ghosts is still occupying a place in the chart at 4, with Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes trailing behind in 5th place. PS4 exclusive, InFamous Second Son has dropped down from last week’s top spot to 6th, fellow ex chart topper The LEGO Movie Videogame also sits back at 7. South Park: The Stick of Truth, Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition and Battlefield 4 complete the top 10.
Were you one of the players who pre-ordered The Elder Scrolls Online or are you waiting for the console versions to launch in the summer?
