It what has to be one of the most exciting reveals of the week, you may have heard that EA Sports UFC has gained a surprise addition to its roster – Bruce Lee. The master of Jeet Kune Do himself is finally getting back into the video game limelight and we want to know your reaction to the move.
If you previously were not interested in the game, you probably are going to be now after the reveal of Bruce Lee. It is looking like the perfect partnership between EA, UFC and the Bruce Lee Foundation and it can only be a good thing for fighting fans.
The EA Sports UFC release date has been confirmed for June 17 2014 and will release on PS4 and Xbox One platforms only. That means no EA Sports UFC on Xbox 360, PS3 and seemingly no version for PC gamers as well unfortunately.
The graphics for Bruce Lee are already looking amazing and we can’t wait to see some first gameplay of the character entering the Octagon. We’re also promised that Lee will also come with his trademark sounds as well whilst fighting, not to mention wearing a special UFC version of his infamous outfit from the Game of Death movie.
We can tell you that there will be two ways to unlock the ‘Father of MMA’. Simply pre-order the game to gain access to Bruce Lee straight away, or you can complete UFC campaign mode on Pro to unlock him that way – which is a great alternative.
Bruce Lee will be available in the Flyweight, Bantamweight, Featherweight and Lightweight divisions. Here’s what EA Sports UFC Art Director Ian Lloyd had to say about this monumental partnership:
“This does not just look like Bruce Lee. It is Bruce Lee. The way he carries himself, his fighting stance, his rippling physique, devastating speed, signature strikes and accompanying yells, whoops and shrieks.”
We can’t wait to hear more details about this game now that Lee is included and we’re guessing most of you feel the same. Let us know if this EA Sports UFC news alone has convinced you to pre-order the game – will you be buying for PS4 or Xbox One?
