Theorizing Assassin’s Creed: Unity, 5 key factors

It’s been just over a week since Ubisoft announced Assassin’s Creed: Unity, and in the trailer that was released on the same day as the announcement, we were promised a release date of late 2014, although October is highly likely. There is so much potential for the game, and so we thought we would have a look at a few possibilities.

Theorizing Assassin’s Creed 5, or Unity as it is officially called – One of the key factors that we can look forward to is that this version will be for the PS4 and Xbox One only, which means Ubisoft will not have to stretch itself too thin. This means the team behind the project can get the best from just two platforms rather than several.

While Ubisoft has not shared much in the way of details, we can tell you that Assassin’s Creed: Unity will be set in France during the Revolution, and this a good thing on the whole. Okay, so it would have been nice to see the Assassin’s head to Ancient Egypt, but at least the period of the French Revolution is better than a future setting.

Ubisoft is a French company, and so we feel they will give this next installment justice, especially as they will gain easy access to knowledge surrounding the period. It is the hope that this will be the most detailed version of Assassin’s Creed yet, as surely Ubisoft has something to prove?

Assassin’s Creed Unity is certain to be a vast improvement over Black Flag because developers will adapt in a far better way than they did with Assassin’s Creed 4 compared to AC3. Ubisoft has to be careful here because they need to make changes, but change the formula too much and loyal fans could walk away. However, it is clear that the current gameplay is starting to look a little tired, and so we may need a little clean up, such as getting rid of following conversations and staying in a circle to name but a few.

Finally, Assassin’s Creed Unity is an exciting prospect because it brings an end to one era and starts a new chapter, one that could be exploited for Assassin’s creed 6 as well.

What are your expectations for Assassin’s Creed 5, or Unity as we now know it to be?
