Halo 5 is still shrouded in a degree of mystery with very little details still publicly available on the game at the moment. However some new Halo 5 clues have been implied via new job ads that have been posted for the game’s development.
343 Industries have reportedly put out at least 11 positions that they are hiring for which includes a lead multiplayer level designer. Halo 5 has still not been officially announced but it is more or less a certainty, these job ads give us good indications as to where the game is in the development process. The time scale for release may also give a clue as to the quality we can expect.
There are also positions open for a Senior Concept Artist, Environment Artist, Sound Designer and Software Development Engineer. The requirements that 343 are looking for from their lead multiplayer level designer are very high, seeking mastery of design and layout.
In addition to this the candidate should understand the relationship between the creation of a balanced multiplayer shooter experience and level geometry. The successful applicant will be tasked with driving the multiplayer map design for a futuristic first person shooter set in the Halo universe.
Halo 5 will not be released in 2014, the voice actor for Master Chief has confirmed it will be some time in 2015. Judging by whether the game is in development right now, this seems like an accurate prediction. By that time the Xbox One may have even started testing some of their virtual reality hardware, what better game to sample it on than Halo 5?
Is a 2015 Halo 5 release good enough for you, or would you like to see 343 push for a late 2014 launch?
