Watch Dogs Vs GTA V for game length

Most of you will already be aware that Watch Dogs will not make its original release schedule, with Ubisoft now confirming that Watch Dogs will instead be available in May 2014.

The delay has been met with a mixed reaction, with many gamers actually happy that Ubisoft is taking the extra time to ensure that Watch Dogs is being given the maximum time needed for that extra level of polish and fine tuning that they wouldn’t have been able to meet if they stuck to the initial plan to launch the game with next-gen console launches.

While we talked about the delay affecting the Wii U version specifically in a previous article, we now have some insight on how long players will have to spend to complete the game on a standard run.

There has been a lot of expectation on Ubisoft to deliver with Ubisoft given the open world nature of the game similar to GTA V, but now we have heard from Creative Director Jonathan Morin that the Watch Dogs story will set you back around 35 to 40 hours.

However, as you can see Morin has also revealed that spending the time to do everything in the game to completion will instead require around 100 hours – which obviously is the sort of length that many gamers were hoping to see.

Is the 40 hour mark for the main story mode acceptable for you though, or were you expecting it to be a little longer? Remember that there is no mention of a speed run yet, so we’re presuming that it could be even quicker than 35 hours if you are specifically racing through from start to finish.

For an open world game, let us know if you are happy to pay the price of the game knowing that it will offer around 100 hours to complete everything 100%. How long have you spent on GTA V in comparison, roughly?

We’ve heard from many gamers who actually say that they can complete the main GTA V story in under 40 hours as well, so it’s interesting that Watch Dogs clocks in at around the same time.

However, going through GTA V to completion will instead set you back over 70 hours in single-player mode. Also a GTA V speed run can be completed in under 20 hours, so it’s an interesting comparison between the two games.
