Toshiba has announced their new LED HDTV range for 2014 and we can tell you that in the roadmap there are four new ranges that cater for those with a small budget, to those of you who have a larger disposal income.
Having owned a few Toshiba TVs in the past I can say with confidence that you will be very happy with their image and sound quality, although as always it comes down to personal taste. Having said that, I’ve been choosing Samsung over the past 5 or so years.
Let’s start with the top of the range, which is the 7 Series Toshiba L74 and comes in three sizes, 42-inch, 47-inch and 55-inch models. Some of the Toshiba L74 features include Full HD LED backlight display, dual core X2 processor complete with CEVO technology, built-in BBC iPlayer as part of the Smart TV Cloud service and much more. This range will be made available from May 2014.
The 6 Series L64 comes in two sizes, 42-inch and 47-inch and while it comes with the same display type, it does lack some of the performance because it doesn’t have the CEVO technology. However, you can still make use of the Smart TV features.
Next up is the 5 Series L54 and again offers two screen sizes, but this time a 48-inch and 40-inch. While this doesn’t make use of a Full HD LED array, you do get Edge LED. These models also lack the dual-core processor.
Finally there is the budget range, which is the 3 Series Toshiba L3 and is LCD rather than LED. There is a choice of two screen sizes, a 24-inch and 48-inch and even though this model still comes with the Smart TV features, there is not much else worth mentioning.
