With just two weeks to go before PlayStation 4 exclusive inFamous: Second Son releases worldwide we have started to see some TV commercials advertising the upcoming game. Promoting this game has seemed to be a fruitful exercise and reports from Sony suggest this game has been pre-ordered more than Naughty Dog’s PS3 title The Last of Us.
The upcoming open world action-adventure may only be an exclusive for Sony’s next-gen system, but the figures represented for reserved copies are impressive considering The Last of Us might have only been a PS3 exclusive, but at least it has an established user base. This gives us reason to believe inFamous: Second Son is an eagerly awaited title for owners of the new console.
MCV reports on the amount of money that has been put into promoting this game with talk of a multi-million pound TV and video on demand campaign, not to mention a month’s worth of cinema advertising.
SCE UK product manager Josh Walker says, “We have high expectations for Infamous: Second Son” expressing his excitement about the level of pre-orders exceeding that of The Last of Us at the same point in the run up to its launch
With that in mind, we thought it would be a good idea to highlight a recent post in which we mentioned inFamous: Second Son excitement building with shorts. Fan made live-action shorts have surfaced as developers, Sucker Punch Productions announced a winner out of five shortlisted.
