Watch Dogs is one of this year most anticipated games and although it is not expected to drop until this summer, there is a chance that a new date could be revealed by Ubisoft in the near future. While the release bracket for the game is said to be anywhere from April to June 2014, we are hoping that this will arrive sooner rather than later.
We are still waiting for confirmation about whether a Wii U version could be delayed further, and with the title expected to brace the PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PS4 and Xbox One we can understand that a majority of gamers would look forward to an early release. The Watch Dogs release date on official Sony Entertainment Network store states the 30th June, 2014, as the actual date which will follow this year’s E3 event, but we are keeping our fingers crossed this could arrive earlier.
A recent Watch Dogs advert let us know that the game’s new release date will be unveiled in a trailer soon, but we are still yet to see this clip. Pixel Gamer UK twitter feed is currently showing images of this date displayed on the CEN website, which contains everything from details when it comes to reserving your copy as well as available avatars and a description about the upcoming game.
As far as the release date is concerned, last month we discussed scepticism over the Watch Dogs launch, especially since interest in the game has died down after reports of the delay, but we are hoping the new date will reinvest fans in the hype surrounding the game. We spoke about rumours by a Portuguese retailer suggesting Watch Dogs will release on the 20th April, but we haven’t heard anything to back this claim up.
Did your interest in Watch Dogs die down when you initially heard of the delay? Were you hoping the game would arrive before this year’s E3 event?
