Dead Nation PS4 expectations

By Alan Ng - Feb 28, 2014

In case you haven’t heard the big news, Dead Nation Apocalypse Edition on PS4 is the free game for the PS Plus March update. It will be replacing Outlast on the PS4 Instant Game Collection and we look ahead to the game that could take PS4 gamers by surprise.

Dead Nation was a silent but successful hit on PS3. Many gamers may had come across the game by way of reward due to the now infamous PS3 hack-gate, but there was no denying that the game was really fun to play, especially with a friend.

Now, Sony confirms that the Apocalypse Edition is going to be even better on PS4. For starters, you can expect upgraded 1080p graphics, as well as all of the included DLC such as the ‘Road to Devastation’ expansion.

On top of that, there will be PS4 Challenge Mode, allowing your friends to attempt to beat your high score. Perhaps best of all though, Dead Nation Apocalypse Edition is going to support the PS4 Broadcast+ feature.

Broadcast+ will allow other Dead Nation fans to join your live broadcast, with the ability to impact gameplay by voting on changing certain aspects in the game. This can include things such as increasing the difficulty for the person playing, to dropping power-ups for the player to use and in extreme cases – preventing the player from even using abilities such as sprint.

We’ve seen some PS4 owners complain that Dead Nation is a weak title for the PS Plus March, but we think you will change your mind once you realize how good Dead Nation really is. The official Dead Nation PS4 release date is March 5th, so there’s not long to wait at all.

Your reaction when finding out about how good Dead Nation really is?

Let us know your expectations of Dead Nation so far. Are you pumped up to play through the entire campaign with a friend in co-op mode?

We have a feeling it may even go on to be more popular than Outlast, so give us your thoughts on this below.
