The PS4 has been a huge hit in Japan since finally releasing there over the weekend, boosting Knack sales in the process. The PS4 Knack bundle was the most popular console package on sale at launch, sending the title to the top of Japan’s gaming chart.
Yesterday we brought you the news that Sony had already shifted 300,000 units in the opening 2 days of business. Updated figures that have appeared on NeoGAF suggest that this figure has now grown to more than 310,000 in the last 24 hours. The data suggests that Knack sales reached just over 309,000 copies which shows that virtually every PS4 sold was bundled with the game.
When the PS4 launched in the US and Europe, other bundle options were available such as Killzone: Shadow Fall and Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag. Knack is Sony’s flagship title to promote the PS4 and it is clear that on home territory they want to push this game experience forward.
Despite these great sales figures, they are actually lower than the 322,000 which was predicted by Famitsu. This will not worry Sony as the PS4 has already exceeded their sales expectations, beating the Xbox One by double. Whether Sony can achieve half a million console sales by the end of the week, providing stock is available will be interesting to see.
We await the official sales figures, is there any stopping the PS4?
