Xbox One Media Remote now official

Updated on

Say hello to the Microsoft Xbox One Media Remote that you would have already seen leaked by Amazon, even if only for a few minutes around one week ago. Since that introduction of a pre-order page, Microsoft finally revealed the Xbox One accessory today.

The Xbox One Media Remote will allow owners of Microsoft’s new console to control Blu-ray movies, video playback, and stream video at the touch of a button. The remote also features a dedicated button for OneGuide, which basically lets users use the Xbox program guide to access movies and TV shows.

Other features include a Back button for taking a step back in different situations, and of course the always useful control of your television thanks to IR blasting and the Kinect sensor.

Once you pick up the Xbox One Media Remote it senses this action thanks to being motion-activated, so if the room is dark the controller will light up to illuminate even in the darkest rooms.

We are yet to see a release date for the Xbox One Media Remote, although we do know that it will arrive at the start of next month. The price will be $24.99 in the United States, so expect similar pricing in other parts of the world plus the normal taxes.

Will you be purchasing the Xbox One Media Remote to complete your media setup?
