Twitch plays Pokemon is craziest thing you’ve seen

By Alan Ng - Feb 18, 2014

Twitch plays Pokemon is easily one of the craziest things we and you are likely to see. The event is ongoing as we speak on Twitch, allowing millions of Pokemon players to play Red and Blue using chat commands to control the game.

As you can imagine though, many players are getting a little bit excited about this. There is massive interest as we speak, with millions of players mashing in commands every second, meaning that actual progress in the game is near impossible.

Combine that with the fact that many gamers (trolls) are signing up to Twitch plays Pokemon just to keep hitting the start button – annoying everyone in the process.

Try it out now and count how many times in a minute commenters are saying ‘stop pressing start’. Twitch Plays Pokemon players are stuck in the same maze at the moment and the music may be starting to hypnotize you.

Stop pressing start?!

Stop pressing start?!

Still though, it’s a very fascinating concept and could prove to be an amazing success with other games. If only there was a way to disable those pressing start all of the time – it would be great to see an actual Pokemon battle take place.

It’s still live as we speak, so join the fun and let us know what you think about it. What do you say to those that are deliberately pressing start?
