There has been fears over the Metal Gear Solid 5: Phantom pain release date after Konami said that the game could come as late as 2015. Depending on the success of Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes, we may have to wait a bit longer than expected for The Phantom Pain.
Market analysts Dave Gibson revealed on Twitter that due to Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes being a little bit short, Konami will be aiming for the long run with The Phantom Pain. Even with the DLC content and side missions, Ground Zero is not expected to be all that long. Depending on the development stage of The Phantom Pain, the release date could even stretch to 2016 at the latest depending on these various factors.

This may unsettle Metal Gear Solid fans who were hoping to see The Phantom Pain released shortly after Ground Zeroes. We will have to see the reaction to next months release and see if this gives a better indicator of the wait that the game faces. Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes releases in the US on March 18th and Europe on March 20th for PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360.
Konami has 7 console titles planned for this year and is budgeted to release the same amount next year according to Gaming Bolt. Lets hope that The Phantom Pain is featured in this years batch and the release will not be delayed until later in 2015.
