For that are still aware, the secret PlayStation Now beta is now underway in America. Unsurprisingly though, one user has fallen to temptation and has revealed video evidence showing the beta in action. Following on from this, we have heard one gaming analyst label PlayStation Now ‘a joke’.
Many fans then shared their disappointment, considering some had identified themselves as a ‘loyal’ PlayStation fan, but still didn’t receive a code.
While we wait for availability to open up, some fans have gone against Sony’s rules and uploaded footage anyway. We’ve included a video below which shows Killzone 3 being streamed using PlayStation Now.
You can also take a quick peek at the menu which confirms that other games such as Dead or Alive 5, Darksiders 2 and Shadow of the Colossus is available for selection – the latter being a PlayStation 2 game of course, or PS3 as part of the HD collection.
A big talking point though is Michael Pachter’s recent comments about PlayStation Now. Just take a look at what he told Game Informer:
“PlayStation Now is a joke. There is no publisher that is going to license content that’s less than two-years old because they would be concerned that they can’t sell as many copies if they make it available for subscription or rental. This has no prayer of working. None.”
Some harsh words for sure, especially considering the service is only in beta and surely cannot be judged as a final product just yet.
Gamers have been having their say on the comments, with most believing that Pachter was unfair and out of line on this occasion.
