The new Radio Shack commercial

The latest Radio Shack commercial takes us back to the 80’s with its first Super Bowl advertisement in a decade. The consumer electronics retailer based in Fort Worth gives us that nostalgic feel with plenty of characters us older viewers will remember.

The new Radio Shack commercial

With everyone from Erik Estrada from Chips, Teenwolf, Hulk Hogan, Alf and Slimer from Ghostbusters the commercial starts off in the older look Radio Shack with an assistant receiving a phone call from the 80 saying they want their store back. This in turn sees a whole host of 80s celebrities bursting through the door to take back their old stuff as they make room for a future RadioShack.

The Super Bowl advert is the ideal way to inform potential consumers that RadioShack has acknowledged their brand needs its dated image renewing. Personally, I found this commercial has plenty of appeal as I tried to work out where I remembered certain characters from, while it also gave me a reason to notice a new RadioShack store design.

Below this post we have embedded the commercial which lasts just over a minute, and takes us back to the eighties which in reflection seems like one of the most entertaining decades, especially as far as TV characters are concerned. How many 80s characters you can pick out from the advert?
