Archos 90 Neon price and specs desire

By Updated on

If you are a fan of budget tablets, we have another great consideration for you to take into account. Samsung may be planning to shock consumers with the expensive Galaxy Note Pro range, but it’s also refreshing to see other makers such as Archos keep things simple with their new Archos 90 Neon tablet.

We’re a big fan of cheap tablets, as there is perhaps a danger of manufacturers going overboard with pricing as we enter 2014. While the likes of Apple and Samsung continue to bring out tablets geared towards the high-end market, it’s refreshing to see that there’s still a healthy range of budget tablets to choose from.

One new cheap tablet in 2014 is the Archos 90 Neon, which has just been announced alongside the 9.7-inch 97 Neon and the 10.1-inch 101 Neon.

The 90 Neon is a 9-inch tablet and will be the cheapest out of the three. It still features some great performance, with Archos equipping the 90 Neon with a quad-core A9 1.4GHz processor and 1GB of RAM. There’s also 8GB of onboard storage and microSD expansion if you need more.

The 90 Neon has a 2MP rear camera with front facing camera, but the big talking point may be the rather worrying 800 x 480 display resolution. That is obviously a display quality that is well below the standards you may expect for a new tablet release in 2014.

Having said that, Archos has not announced a 90 Neon price in UK or US markets yet, so that will be the decisive factor in our opinion.

It’s still coming with both a quad-core CPU and a quad-core GPU for gaming – so if it hits the market with a price tag of between $100-150, then Archos could win over everybody.

Are you interested in the new 90 Neon or do you have your mind set on a different tablet this year?
